Warwick has been practicing martial arts for more than 25 years. He is currently a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Brown Belt under Professor Leonardo Arruda and the MMA Instructor and Beginner’s BJJ Instructor for the team.
Warwick began his Martial Arts training in traditional Goju Ryu Karate at the age of 11. He then spent the next 7 years training Shaolin Kung Fu Wu Chu Chuan (5 Ancestor Fist) under Sifu Stephen Tiong and Sifu Daniel Sparr. During this time he was also playing semi-professional football in the SANFL and learning to transfer skills learned in martial arts to other sports.
Warwick then spent 12 years training under one of the Pioneers of Mixed Martial Arts in Australia, Grand Master Vince Palumbo. During this time Warwick was graded to the ranks of Black Belt in Arjukanpo Karate and Guru 3rd Degree Black Belt Pangamot Philippino Jiu Jitsu under Grand Master Vince Palumbo and Grand Master Ciaco “Cacoy” Canete.
After discovering Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in 2007 Warwick dedicated himself to learning and evolving and has become passionate about teaching the sport as well. He has competed in South Australian and Victorian State Championships, winning 5 Gold medals, 2 Silver medals and 1 Bronze.
Warwick has also been working at the Adelaide Football Club since the beginning of 2012 as a Grappling/Tackling and Boxing Coach for the Adelaide Crows.
